I so badly want to hate you,

But I cant leave you behind.

That goddamned look in your eyes...

Its forever burnt into my mind.

I thought I actually knew you, for a while,

Long before the walls shifted.

Your beaming eyes and shining smile

Left me overjoyed and uplifted.

But everything desires change,

So I unsuspectingly fell, like some unknown doom.

Though I needed occupancy,

Your heart just had no room.

But how could this happen?

I really tried so hard

Just to be pushed out, and abandoned,

Left to die in your disregard.

But I will change and move on,

As everything must.

Though Ill never be able to hate you

Much to my disgust.

Still, the sight of your smile

Still brings that sorrowful glee.

Because I know that when you smile

It'll never be for me...
